Vintage Camprio Palette Knife Oil Painting, Mediterranean Harbor
A sunny Mediterranean harbor in thick, confident palette-knife strokes: a whitewashed building and stone steps lead down to the water, where a sailboat with a rust-red sail sits moored at the quay. Across the bay, a village of terracotta rooftops and a pair of tall cypress trees sit beneath a soft blue mountain and drifting clouds.
Signed "Camprio" lower right. The paintings signed Camprio are attributed to Giovanni Camprio (1915–1999), who, according to the biography published with his work, was born in Rome, grew up in Naples, and spent his youth painting the harbor and the Isle of Capri, with his signature palette-knife technique and bright, lively color.
Framed in gold with a natural linen liner, ready to hang. Condition as shown in photos.
