Vintage French Limoges Cobalt Blue Trinket Box — Gilt Courting Scene

A charming cobalt blue Limoges porcelain trinket box featuring a gilt courting scene — a seated woman with fan and a standing gentleman amid flowering branches — on the lid. The deep cobalt ground with richly detailed gold decoration is one of the most classic and recognizable Limoges decorative traditions, produced in the porcelain workshops of Limoges, France.

The unglazed bisque rim and substantial porcelain construction are consistent with authentic French Limoges production. Signed "Limoges" on the lid.

Acquired in Aix-en-Provence.
